High Note Soprano

Do you like to sing? I absolutely love to sing!!! ❤ If you are familiar with singing then you will probably know that there are several voice groups and there are really 3 main voice groups, Sopranos, Altos, and Baritones. Baritones are low, altos are kind of in between, and Sopranos are high. I am a Soprano. I can sing higher than most soprano voices. My older sister, Grace, is a high soprano too. I love to sing and so does Grace. My sisters and I are all in a chorus with our friends. We are going to be in a musical called “The Jungle Book”. We are going to audition for some lead roles in the musical. Here are the characters from “The Jungle Book”:

(We are not doing the original Jungle Book, instead, we are doing the one from the Disney movie.)

  • Mowgli (The main character, a human boy)
  • Baloo (Mowgli’s friend, Baloo is a bear)
  • Bagheera (The panther, Mowgli’s other friend)
  • King Louie (The monkey king)
  • Shere Khan (The tiger who wants to kill Mowgli)
  • Kaa (The snake who tries to make trouble)
  • Colonel Hathi (The lead elephant)
  • Shanti (The  girl from the village who is a human)

These are the characters that there are.

Grace is trying out for Bagheera and Shanti, Joy is not trying out, and I am trying out for, Bagheera, Shanti, and Mowgli.

The auditions are in 3 days so I will keep you updated. 🙂

Rainy Day Bucket

You know those rainy days when you’re stuck at home in one of those moods and you’re absolutely bored out of your mind? I’ve definitely had that happen a lot. You know what’s a great idea for that though?

Make a Rainy Day Bucket

  1.  Index cards
  2. Markers
  3. Tape
  4. Scissors
  5. A big bowl

What to do:

  1. Get the supplies and settle down at the table.
  2. Think, think, think.
  3. Be creative!
  4. Take an index card and write, “Rainy Day Bucket”, on it.
  5. Tape the index card to the bowl.
  6. Take some more index cards (you’ll want enough to fill the bucket) and cut them into small strips big enough to write on.
  7. The next thing you’ll want to do is make up a list of ideas for what you can do when it is rainy. (Such as board games, movie-time, baking, etc.)
  8. Take the strips and write an idea on each one.
  9. Put the strips in the bowl and mix them around.
  10. Whenever you have any ideas on what to do on a rainy day then just write them on a strip of paper and put it in the bucket.
  11. You should have markers and strips of paper always near the rainy day bucket in case you want to add to it.
  12. Whenever it is a rainy day and you are absolutely bored out of your mind then take 2 strips out of the rainy day bucket and read them. Choose between the 2 and put the other one back.

Have fun with your rainy day bucket! I hope your rainy days will be a lot more fun! 🙂

Do you like milk, gluten or corn products? I can’t have any of those. I have a case of dry skin and it is called eczema. 😦 This case of eczema started on my eyelids and above my lip. It disappeared from there and spread to other spots on my face and my arms and neck. It also is on the back of my neck and on my head. If you ignore it and don’t put stuff (such as cortisone and Eucerin) on it then it will just get worse and spread to other parts of your skin. If you have eczema then you should probably treat it right away by getting stuff to put on it and putting it on at least twice a day. My eczema got so bad that I had to go on a diet without all those things I listed and more. 😦 The thing that is the hardest for me to not have would be the dairy (or casein) because I like it so much. It is very hard for me to stay away from the corn because it is in everything as high fructose corn syrup or corn starch or something like that and gluten is in everything I like. So they are all hard to avoid. I call this diet a driet because it is for my dry skin. My whole family is on the diet. So far it has not worked but I will keep you updated.

Hi, this is Faith!!!

I know it’s a little late but I’m going to tell you a story, a story about Jesus. I’m sure you’re probably wondering who Jesus is. Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas. If you want to read about it right from the book then here are some links: ,

But otherwise I will tell it.

A long time ago in Nazareth there was a young woman named Mary and a man named Joseph. Now Mary and Joseph were engaged to be married. One day an angel of the Lord appeared to Mary and his name was Gabriel. The angel Gabriel said to Mary, “Greetings you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you!” Now Mary was deeply troubled but the angel Gabriel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end. ”

“How can this be? Since I am a virgin?” Mary asked Gabriel.

“The Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will bear a Son. So he will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. For nothing is impossible with God.” Gabriel answered.

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Then the angel Gabriel left her.

When Joseph found out that Mary was expecting a child he was upset because he had not yet married her and he thought she loved another man so he made up his mind to end their engagement. But one night an angel of the Lord came to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” When Joseph awoke he remembered what the angel had told him and he took her to be his wife.

Now, in those days there was a man ruling them named Caesar Augustus and he wanted to be able to make sure that everyone in the Roman world was paying their taxes. To do this Caesar had everyone go to their hometowns to be counted. Since Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph she went with Joseph to his hometown which was Bethlehem. When they arrived there they looked everywhere but they could not find a place to stay because Caesar had sent everyone to their hometowns. Joseph knocked on the door of an inn looking for a place to stay and the innkeeper said that there was no more room but they did have a stable where they could sleep with the animals. Since they had no other place to go and they were tired from their long journey on foot they accepted the innkeeper’s offer. A little while later Mary gave birth to a Son and they named Him Jesus and they wrapped Him in swaddling-clothes and lay Him in a manger.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in Bethlehem a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favour rests.”

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. (Luke 2:8 -20)

Far away in the East, Wise Men saw a star shining high in the sky and they knew this was a very special star. The Wise Men knew that the birth of Jesus had been prophesied and so they knew that this must be the star that was prophesied about so they decided to follow the star. They went to Jerusalem to see King Herod. They asked to see the child that would be the King of the Jews. King Herod didn’t want anyone to take away his throne so he said, “I do not know where this child is, but go and find Him so that I too may worship Him.” King Herod wasn’t really planning to worship Him, what King Herod was really planning to do was to kill Jesus because he did not want Jesus to take away his throne. When the Wise Men (or kings as they were also called) found Jesus they gave Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. But when the Kings went to go back an angel of God warned them not to go back because King Herod wanted to kill Jesus. So the Wise Men went a different route in order to avoid going back to King Herod. Later in, a dream an angel came to Joseph and told him to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt because King Herod had ordered that Jesus be killed. So Joseph took Mary and Jesus to Egypt and after King Herod had died they went back. That is why we celebrate Christmas; because that was the day our Savior, Christ, was born. And that is what puts the Christ in Christmas.

I hoped you enjoyed learning about Christmas!
