Rainy Day Bucket

on February 3, 2016

You know those rainy days when you’re stuck at home in one of those moods and you’re absolutely bored out of your mind? I’ve definitely had that happen a lot. You know what’s a great idea for that though?

Make a Rainy Day Bucket

Supplies:

  1.  Index cards
  2. Markers
  3. Tape
  4. Scissors
  5. A big bowl

What to do:

  1. Get the supplies and settle down at the table.
  2. Think, think, think.
  3. Be creative!
  4. Take an index card and write, “Rainy Day Bucket”, on it.
  5. Tape the index card to the bowl.
  6. Take some more index cards (you’ll want enough to fill the bucket) and cut them into small strips big enough to write on.
  7. The next thing you’ll want to do is make up a list of ideas for what you can do when it is rainy. (Such as board games, movie-time, baking, etc.)
  8. Take the strips and write an idea on each one.
  9. Put the strips in the bowl and mix them around.
  10. Whenever you have any ideas on what to do on a rainy day then just write them on a strip of paper and put it in the bucket.
  11. You should have markers and strips of paper always near the rainy day bucket in case you want to add to it.
  12. Whenever it is a rainy day and you are absolutely bored out of your mind then take 2 strips out of the rainy day bucket and read them. Choose between the 2 and put the other one back.

Have fun with your rainy day bucket! I hope your rainy days will be a lot more fun! 🙂

P.S.

  1. You can make a pouch that you can attach to the bowl by just using 2 index cards, markers and tape.
  2. Take the two index cards and tape them together width-wise.
  3. Using the markers draw something like clouds and rain drops on the index card and, using tape, secure it to the rainy day bucket.

  2. I posted that when it was actually raining and it was not snowing at all and it was warm out, I figured that we wouldn’t get snow, now it is snowing and it is cold out. 😀 Oops! My bad! 🙂
